Throughout history there have been tons of influential stoners. These people have greatly affected our lifestyles today. Here are 5 famous stoners throughout history.
1. George Washington
Yes, the first president of the United States of America was a stoner. Believe it or not he had his own hemp farm, separated more potent seeds, and smoked a lot of weed. In 1762, Virginia actually encouraged hempculture and manufacture, and imposed penalties upon those who did not produce it.

2. Abraham Lincoln
Another one of the greatest presidents was a pothead. One of his famous quotes is from a letter he wrote to Hohner harmonicas saying, “Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica.” I truly believe Abraham Lincoln would be disgusted with any laws on marijuana due to his beliefs against prohibition. “Prohibition goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man’s appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.” ~ Abraham Lincoln December, 1840.

3. Henry Ford
Not only did this guy grow and smoke, he built cars out of these wonderful plants. Henry Ford’s model t was made of hemp plastics, hemp fabrics, and ran off hemp fuels. The wise man once said, “Why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields?”

Carl Sagan is very supportive of the legalization of marijuana. One of his most famous quotes is, “The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world.”
